Car crashes into side of Caribbean eatery in Providence

PROVIDENCE, RI – A driver and passenger fled the scene after crashing a stolen car through the side window of a restaurant in Providence on Tuesday, reports WLNE abc6. 

The incident happened in the afternoon at El Caribeño, which is located at 226 Academy Drive, between Beaufort Street and Dover Street.

Police found the gray Toyota Camry at the scene and determined it was a stolen vehicle. They are currently searching for the two people who were riding in the car at the time of the crash.

It is unclear at this time how the crash happened and if anyone in the car or restaurant sustained injuries.

The full investigation of the incident is underway.
