Worker rams car into former workplace in Woonsocket

WOONSOCKET, R.I.- A man released from his job at a Dollar Tree drives vehicle into that same store on Tuesday in Woonsocket, WPRI reports.

Scott Stern, 49, had been let go from his employment at Dollar Tree the day before he rammed someone else’s vehicle into the store.

Before crashing into the store, Stern had been arguing with someone at a housing complex in the neighborhood. Police were called to address this situation. Before law enforcement arrive,d Stern took the keys of the other person, stole their vehicle, and drove it into the Dollar Tree.

Stern got out of the car, and someone attempt to stop him in the store. When police arrived, Stern attempted to evade the police by throwing store items at them.

Stern was arrested after being taken to Landmark Medical Center.
